Pretty pictures for a rainy day

My amazingly talented and beautiful sister recently visited Ireland to celebrate her 30th birthday. She is a wonderfully gifted photographer and needless to say she had a big time in Ireland with so many wonderful sights around her. She took a ton of lovely photographs but here are just a few of my favorites.

Waste not, want these

I think these are so great! I stumbled upon these awesome recycled bottles turned into glasses on Etsy (link here) and I love them.
What a great way to re-use what is always disposed of. Look how fun they are.....

Truly amazing wedding

I recently did a wedding invitation for a beautiful bride and groom who were getting married on her parents ranch in Durango, Colorado. Here is the invitation...

And here are some photos from the breathtaking wedding. Their photographer was the unbelievably talented
Brett Butterstein who was recently declared one of the " Top 10 photographers of 2009",  and you can certainly see why in these photos.....

Invitations form Bella Figura

I love these gorgeous calligraphy letterpressed invitations. What makes them so interesting is how they focused on the art of the calligraphy alone and stuck with a simple color scheme as well.

Super cute save-the-dates

I came across these adorable save-the-dates this morning and thought they were so fun and creative and wanted to share them with you! The couple is big on food and wanted to think of a fun way to incorporate that into their wedding.  The designers name is Marilyn Chein, and its for her wedding.

Vintage Stamps- pushing the envelope

Since when did stamps get so boring?  I feel like over the years the postage seems to go up but the creativity seems to go down .  Before the use of adhesive stamps which were invented in 1837, letters were hand stamped or postmarked with ink.  If you venture over to ebay you can find some of the coolest old stamps that have so much character to them.  An awesome thing to do now is to put these on your wedding invites which can add a whole new element to them when paired with some custom calligraphy. You might end up paying a little more than anticipated for postage though, since a 30 cent stamp can cost around 75 cents. Just make sure to always get your invitations hand canceled otherwise you are likely to end up with the "tire tracks" from the machines that do them these days.
